Explore Coptic Cairo*

- Begin your tour in Old Cairo, home to some of the city’s most important Christian and Jewish landmarks.  

Highlights:  

.The Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church):  

   - One of the oldest churches in Egypt, dating back to the 3rd century.  

   - Admire its unique architecture and beautiful icons.  

 Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga):  

   - Believed to be built on the spot where the Holy Family rested during their flight to Egypt.  

   - Explore the crypt and learn about its historical significance.  

 Ben Ezra Synagogue:  

   - One of the oldest synagogues in Egypt, with a rich history dating back to the 9th century.  

   - Discover its connection to the Jewish community in Cairo.  

 Coptic Museum:

3) Visit the Citadel of Saladin*

- Head to the Citadel, a medieval Islamic fortification built by Salah al-Din (Saladin) in the 12th century.  

Highlights:  

 Mosque of Muhammad Ali (Alabaster Mosque):  

   - Admire the stunning Ottoman-style architecture and panoramic views of Cairo.  

   - Learn about Muhammad Ali Pasha, the founder of modern Egypt.  

 National Military Museum:  

   - Explore exhibits showcasing Egypt’s military history, from ancient times to the modern era.  

 Gawhara Palace:  

   - Visit the palace built by Muhammad Ali, featuring beautiful Ottoman and European architectural styles.  

4) - Explore Sultan Hassan Mosque and Al-Rifa'i Mosque*

- Walk to the nearby Sultan Hassan Mosque, a masterpiece of Mamluk architecture.  

- Visit the Al-Rifa'i Mosque, located opposite Sultan Hassan Mosque, which houses the tombs of Egyptian royalty, including King Farouk and the Shah of Iran.
